Anti-racism, decolonization + liberation-focused therapy

I specialize in helping individuals and families undo the damages of colonization, resource extraction, and systemic oppression. My work is grounded in the belief that personal healing is deeply connected to collective liberation. I provide a space where we can explore how historical and present-day forces - such as racism, sexism, classism - shape your present-day mental health, relationships, and sense of self.

My private practice was established in 2017 and is rooted in 8 years of clinical training, years of post-master’s education and training, and now over a decade of practice experience.

My approach is collaborative, direct, and grounded in both compassion and accountability. Together, we will work to not only alleviate symptoms like anxiety, depression, or disconnection, but to understand their roots. We will honor the resilience of your lineage while gently unpacking the wounds that have been passed down, so you can move through the world with more clarity, authenticity, and freedom.

The weight of history is not just in textbooks; the weight of current crises are not just setting fire to the news cycle - it lives in our bodies, our families, and our minds.

Whether it’s the unspoken grief of ancestral trauma, the exhaustion of navigating systemic oppression, or the complex terrain of holding both privilege and marginalization, you don’t have to carry it alone.

Intergenerational Trauma Across All Groups

Regardless of your starting point, a central thread in my work is healing intergenerational trauma. Whether this trauma stems from colonization, forced displacement, resource extraction, or systemic oppression, we will trace its patterns to break cycles of harm and build new legacies of connection and wellbeing.

Focus: Three interconnected areas

My practice is organized around three interconnected areas of healing, each rooted in the understanding that personal wellbeing is inseparable from the systems we navigate and the histories we carry.

  • If you are a person of color, Indigenous, or from a community impacted by oppression, our work will focus on the intersection of your mental health and systemic forces. We will explore how intergenerational trauma caused by colonization, slavery, and ongoing systemic violence shows up in your life. Together, we will:

    • Connect current-day struggles (anxiety, hypervigilance, grief) to historical and systemic roots.

    • Navigate the impacts of ongoing racism, sexism, and classism on your wellbeing.

    • Reclaim cultural wisdom and ancestral strength as a source of healing and resilience.

  • For those holding forms of racialized or systemic privilege, I offer a non-shaming and accountable space to do the essential work of unpacking what you’ve inherited. We will also explore the costs associated with such privilege on your own ancestors, family and life. This work is not about guilt, but about responsibility and integrity. We will work together to:

    • Identify and unroot internalized superiority and unconscious biases.

    • Understand how colonial dynamics may operate in your family system, relationships, and daily life.

    • Develop practical tools to leverage your privilege for collective change without centering yourself or burning out.

  • If you come from a multicultural, mixed-race, or immigrant background, you may carry both the wounds of marginalization and the complexities of privilege simultaneously. This nuanced space can create feelings of isolation, imposter syndrome, or a sense of not belonging fully anywhere. Our work will focus on:

    • Holding space for the full complexity of your identity without forcing you to choose one side.

    • Healing the internal conflicts that arise from navigating multiple cultural worlds.

    • Understanding how colonization has shaped your family’s migration story and current dynamics.

What Brings People Here?

Clients come to me for many reasons, but what they often share is a sense that something deeper is at play beneath their symptoms. Maybe you've tried therapy before and found that it didn't fully address the ways systemic forces show up in your life. Maybe you're not sure how to name what you're carrying, but you know it's connected to your family, your identity, or the world around you.

Here are some of the ways this work touches daily life:

In your relationships: You notice patterns of disconnection, people-pleasing, or difficulty trusting—and you wonder how much of that is yours versus what was passed down. We'll explore how your family's history shows up in how you love, parent, and set boundaries.

In your work: You're exhausted from code-switching, navigating spaces that weren't built for you, or feeling like you have to prove your worth. We'll explore what it looks like to build a relationship with work that sustains you rather than depletes you.

In your body: You feel anxious, hypervigilant, or disconnected—and you suspect it's not just "anxiety" but something older, something inherited. We'll work somatically to help you feel more at home in your own body.

In your sense of self: You navigate multiple cultures, never feeling like you fully belong anywhere. Or you carry messages about your worth that you know are rooted in racism, sexism, or classism—but they still live in you. We'll trace those messages to their roots and build something grounded in your truth.

In your grief: You carry sorrow that feels larger than any single loss—grief for ancestors, for land, for what was stolen or never allowed to flourish. We'll hold space for that grief as wisdom, not pathology.

In your accountability: You want to understand your own privileges and show up differently—but guilt and shame keep getting in the way. We'll explore what it means to hold privilege with integrity, moving toward action that is sustainable and aligned.

Whatever brings you here, my hope is that this becomes a space where all of it is welcome—and where we can trace the threads between your daily struggles and the larger forces that have shaped them.
